News from the North

 

Trond Bjørndal, research director at the Centre for Fisheries Economics, Bergen, is going on leave to University College, London. RÖgnvaldur Hannesson is taking over as research director as of January 1, 2001.

 

Gunilla Greig has left the Centre of Fishery Economics Research Ltd (CFER) in the UK. She is returning to her home country of Sweden and to her former employer, Fiskeriverket (National Board of Fisheries). She will take up her new post on February 5th and she can be contacted on gunilla.greig@fiskeriverket.se. Any business connected to CFER should now be directed to Philip Rodgers at phil@cferltd.com.

  

Dominique Rommel (our EAFE Rapporteur) is leaving the North Atlantic Fisheries College to pursue part-time work with Pharos Fisheries Consultants Ltd in Shetland and with the law firm Vanden Eynde & Partners in Brussels in the fields of international public law, European law and fisheries. She will also work on her PhD thesis on Regionalisation of the Common Fisheries Policy at the Centre for Maritime and Oceanic Law of the University of Nantes.

 

Shetland will remain her main place of residence. Her new contact details are:
